The Madrid City Council has launched a line of

subsidies for freelancers of up to 3,000 euros.

He announced it on Wednesday, at the opening of the second session of the Municipal Council of Self-Employed Work.

It is a preliminary draft that could be modified by the council itself, made up of associations of the self-employed, representatives of municipal political groups and of the regional and state administrations.

As explained by the Deputy Mayor Begoña Villacís, this subsidy

ion,

framed in the

Relaunch Plan,

It is "one more way to help", which is why the City Council hopes that "different lines" can be announced for the self-employed.

This is all that is known about the aid of 3,000 euros for the self-employed.

What is help?

In the words of the Councilor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Ángel Niño, they are "an oxygen balloon so that the self-employed can remain open, can continue producing and generating employment."

From a more practical point of view, it is about "direct, effective and real agile management" aid of up to 3,000 euros "non-refundable".

Who can apply for the grants?

Self-employed workers who are in financial difficulties caused by the Covid-19 health crisis.

Which are the requirements?

The preliminary requirements (the draft can still be modified) that have been advanced are: be registered as a self-employed person at least since 2019, continue in this regime, that billing has been reduced by 50% in 2020 and that during 2019 at least 15,000 euros were invoiced.

Can they be requested now?

At the moment it is not possible to request the aid, since, although the Re-launch Plan has been presented, it is still a draft that has been sent to the Municipal Council of the Self-Employed Worker.

Although the general requirements are drawn up, they could be modified if the Council deems it necessary.

What will the process be like?

Nor is there much information available yet, beyond the fact that the above requirements will have to be verified, if the current draft is finally approved.

What the City Council has advanced is that "to speed up the procedures and that the self-employed receive aid quickly" the subsidies will be processed "through collaborating entities".
