Handelsblatt: The USA and Germany have not yet conducted direct negotiations on Nord Stream 2

As noted, such negotiations will begin when important posts in the US ministries are occupied and approved.

The publication, referring to the Ministry of Economy of the Federal Republic of Germany, reports that the dialogue will begin "when the contact persons and colleagues of the Minister of Economy and Energy Peter Altmeier are named and approved by the competent US institutions" in the new US administration.

Earlier, the Minister of Economy and Energy of Germany Peter Altmeier said that he intends to discuss the situation with the "Nord Stream - 2" with his colleagues from the United States.

In early February, Handelsblatt reported that the United States had expressed its readiness to start a dialogue on the gas pipeline project.
