Companies specializing in hydrogen are soaring on the stock market.

Investors believe in the promises of this industrial sector.

Nicolas Barré takes stock of a current economic issue.

This is reminiscent of the Internet bubble, companies specializing in hydrogen are soaring on the stock market.

Investors believe in the promises of this industrial sector

.

We've been talking about the tremendous potential of hydrogen as an energy source for years.

That large manufacturers like Air Liquide or Michelin, and a myriad of smaller ones, work to democratize its use.

But we may have finally come to the tipping point.

In any case, this is the bet that many investors are making, judging by the soaring stock market "nuggets" specializing in this technology.

Whether they are manufacturers of electrolyzers, such as the French company McPhy Energy, whose price has increased sixfold in one year.

The company is worth nearly a billion.

Or whether it is companies that make fuel cells to convert hydrogen into electricity: it's euphoria.

The sector is in turmoil.

It must be said that the States rely very heavily on hydrogen.

France has just launched a plan worth 7.2 billion euros by 2030 to make this gas "France's energy of the future".

The acceleration is very clear.

The previous French plan owed to Nicolas Hulot amounted to 100 million royally.

We went from millions to billions, we changed scale.

The government expects 50,000 to 100,000 jobs that can be created in this sector.

We note the same acceleration elsewhere in Europe, in particular in Germany which mobilizes even more considerable sums.

Now is the time to raise funds and develop this sector.

Even today, a small French company, HRS, for Hydrogen Refueling Solutions, which manufactures refueling stations for hydrogen vehicles, goes public.

It employs 34 people and is valued at 384 million euros, or 40 times the expected turnover this year: it shows the enthusiasm.

We are only at the start of the take-off of this sector with applications in heavy industry, refining for example, or in transport: trucks, buses, trains, boats and even aeronautics also one day since Airbus has hydrogen aircraft projects.

We have been talking about the hydrogen revolution for a long time.

She comes !
