Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Akabane said at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting on the 5th that "Go To Travel" will continue to be suspended nationwide due to the extension of the state of emergency. It was revealed that it is considering new support measures such as subsidizing the cost of measures.

Due to the extension of the state of emergency, Go To Travel will be suspended nationwide until the 7th of next month.



At the press conference, Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Akabane said, "The longer this situation is, the more severe the situation becomes, and we are very worried that it may become irreversible, such as a series of business closures." It was revealed that it is considering new support measures.



Specifically, the government is considering subsidizing the costs of infectious disease control measures by hotels and travel agencies, and the additional costs incurred when canceling Go To Travel.



Minister Akabane said, "We would like to lay the foundation for a steady recovery of travel demand after overcoming the difficult times of infection with new support measures."
