In this spring battle, Nissan Motor's labor union has decided to reduce the amount of wage increase demand from last year because the business environment is severe due to the influence of the new coronavirus.

According to Nissan Motor's labor union, this year's spring battle will require management to raise wages by 7,000 yen per person per month.

Last year's request was 9000 yen, which means that it is the first time in five years since 2016 that the request has been reduced.

Nissan's wage system does not have regular wage increases and is based on evaluations according to ability and achievements, and does not specify the amount of wage increase equivalent to the so-called base increase that raises the basic salary.

On the other hand, the request for a lump sum payment, which is a bonus, is 5 months of monthly salary, which is 0.4 months lower than last year's request.

Nissan expects a final deficit of over 600 billion yen in the fiscal year ending March, reflecting the difficult business environment.

In the automobile industry,

▽ Toyota Motor's union has decided to demand a total wage increase that exceeds last year's agreement, while

▽ Honda, Mazda, and Mitsubishi Motors' union have

raised

wages equivalent to bears in light of the severe situation caused by the spread of infection. The request will be forgotten.

Each union will submit a request to management in the middle of this month, and labor-management negotiations will begin in earnest.
