NTT DoCoMo has decided to launch a new organization to support the digitization of Japanese companies expanding overseas by utilizing the high-speed, large-capacity communication standard 5G.

NTT DoCoMo has agreed with 12 companies including NEC and Fujitsu to launch a new organization "Overseas Corporation 5G Solution Consortium" to support the digitization of Japanese companies expanding overseas.

The organization will provide Japanese companies expanding overseas with a local 5G communication network and utilize it to support business reforms using digital technology.

Next year, this organization will conduct demonstration experiments such as automating the production process of factories using 5G in Thailand, and in 2022, we would like to sell it to Japanese companies expanding into Thailand.

At an online press conference, NTT DoCoMo's managing director Naoki Tani said, "We would like to work together with 12 companies to provide optimal digital technology for companies expanding overseas."
