Deputy Governor Wakatabe of the Bank of Japan said that the "inspection" of monetary easing measures, which is the focus, "is not a discussion in the direction of retreat of easing", and how effective monetary easing can be while considering the cost aspect of the policy. From the perspective of doing it, he expressed his intention to deepen the discussion.

On the 3rd, Deputy Governor Wakatabe of the Bank of Japan attended an online meeting with economic organizations in Kanagawa Prefecture.

Among them, Deputy Governor Wakatabe will carry out the "inspection" being promoted by the Bank of Japan on the premise that the current large-scale monetary easing measures will be continued in order to implement more effective and sustainable monetary easing. We are not at the stage of concretely stating whether or not to review measures such as purchasing of the bank, but we need to find out if we can operate it more effectively in terms of cost effectiveness. "

He added, "I would like to emphasize that this inspection is not a discussion in the direction of retreat of monetary easing. It is not aimed at controlling the cost of policy," he said. However, he expressed his intention to deepen the discussion from the perspective of how to flexibly carry out effective monetary easing.

Bank of Japan is the result of the inspection, we want to publish next month a meeting in prospect.
