The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail Al Mazrouei, affirmed that the UAE is one of the world leaders in diversifying energy sources and developing the clean energy sector, by devising modern methods and methods to enhance the efficiency of the sector, and finding various solutions besides traditional energy, in a way that supports sustainable development and economies. Patriotism, and the country's crossing of the next 50 years of achievements, up to the UAE Centennial 2071, through which it aims to consecrate its global leadership.

In a speech delivered at the Sixth International Conference on Renewable Energy Sciences and Its Uses (ICREGA), organized by the United Arab Emirates University, through visual communication technology, during the period from the second to the fourth of February, Al Mazrouei said that the UAE is a forerunner in foreseeing the future of sustainable energy. And water, as it achieved a qualitative achievement by formulating the first unified energy strategy that includes production and consumption, and the first strategy for water security, which is an indication of the strength and maturity of the energy and water sectors in the UAE.

He added that "clean energy is a fundamental pillar of sustainability. Therefore, the state was keen to launch the first unified energy strategy, which is the National Energy Strategy 2050, which aims to provide everyone with safe and sustainable energy at competitive prices."

Al-Mazrouei indicated that the state seeks, through this strategy, to improve consumption behavior, raise the efficiency of individual and institutional consumption by 40% by 2050, and also aims to diversify the future energy mix, so that reliance on nuclear energy will be 6%, and 12% for clean coal, to As well as 38% of gas and 44% of renewable energy by 2050, and raising the contribution of clean energy in the total energy mix produced in the country to 50%, and achieving savings equivalent to 700 billion dirhams until 2050.
