The native social media'Cyworld' will be revived next month.



According to the IT industry, the newly established company'Cyworld Z'recently acquired the right to operate the Cyworld service from Je-wan Jeon, CEO of Cyworld.



Cyworld Z is a corporation established by forming a consortium of five companies including entertainment company Sky E&M.



CEO Je-wan Jeon is said to have surpassed Cyworld after receiving 1 billion won, the amount of unpaid wages.



Cyworld Z will start Cyworld PC service in March as early as March, and plans to release mobile services in the first half of the year.



Cyworld, which was PC-based, has become a representative social media in Korea with 32 million users, but it has taken a downhill road because it cannot adapt to the mobile era.



Cyworld is known to have over 10 billion photos and over 100 million videos stored.



Cyworld Z CEO Oh Jong-won said that'Acorn', which was used as a currency on Cyworld, used for avatars and music purchases, will also be revived in a different form.



CEO Oh said that he was planning to list cryptocurrency, and said the name'Dotori' cannot be used because it belongs to SK Communications.
