Before the start of vaccination with the new coronavirus, work has begun to ship special freezers that store vaccines at ultra-low temperatures of around minus 75 degrees Celsius to hospitals around the world.

The government wants to start vaccination of healthcare professionals with Pfizer's vaccine, a major US pharmaceutical company, as late as possible in late February.

The vaccine needs to be stored at around minus 75 degrees Celsius, and the government has begun shipping ultra-low temperature freezers called deep freezers to national and public hospitals around the world.

The freezer was manufactured by a manufacturer in Tokyo with the overseas factories operating at full capacity in response to a request from the government to increase production. Can be done.

On the 1st, the person in charge confirmed the shipping address at the warehouse in Yokohama city.

The freezer corresponds to minus 65 degrees to minus 80 degrees, and has a function to record the transition of the internal temperature every minute, so you can always check the storage status.

The government plans to secure about 10,000 ultra-low temperature freezers for general vaccination and deploy them to local governments nationwide by June.

Ken Sasaki, president of EBAC, which manufactured the freezer, said, "I will do my best to deliver the freezer nationwide as soon as possible so that the vaccine can be inoculated with peace of mind."
