A little over ten years ago, the organization of the 2022 World Cup was entrusted to Qatar.

This Monday, the hospitality packages with tickets, flights and accommodation were put online.

For the occasion, the supplier also hinted that alcohol would be allowed.

A rare occurrence in this small, conservative state on the Arabian Peninsula.

The issue had never been officially addressed.

For the first time, the president of MATCH Hospitality, the hospitality ticket provider for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, responded.

Alcohol consumption should finally be authorized in the stadiums of

the 2022 World Cup.

But under certain strict conditions.

Because for the moment, fans of football and alcoholic beverages can only consume in lodges for certain matches.

For ordinary ticket holders, nothing has been decided yet.

The organization of fan zones is still pending in the era of Covid-19.

In Qatar, the buying and selling of alcohol is legal but strictly regulated.

For this, it is necessary to consume in bars, clubs or hotels with a license.

There is also only one distributor of alcohol in this small Muslim country of just under three million inhabitants and or more than 80% of the population is foreign.
