Opel Mokka -

DR

The name Mokka is not unknown at Opel since until last year, it designated, affublé of the suffix X, a small very clean SUV on him.

A sign of the times, the X which underlined the adventurous side of the SUV has turned into an "e", much more selling today.

But behind this rhetorical change, hides above all a whole new vehicle.

Most remarkable feature?

It is of course the all new front face where the headlights (Full LED and adaptive on the high-end finishes) are integrated of a block with the "grille" (in fact, a smooth body element) which brings a real character to the small SUV.

This distinctive design, called Vizor, is expected to be generalized to all Opel models.

This should help bring more character and harmony to the range.

The Crossland SUV has also just been entitled to it during its restyling.

And it's not just outside that the Mokka breaks the codes.

On board, he inaugurates the new Pure Panel dashboard, which combines (on the most upscale versions in any case) 2 screens gathered under a common cap, to give the illusion of a panoramic display.

Facing the driver, the 12 '' panel is dedicated to the driver and driving information.

Its display is simple and without too many frills, which makes it easier to read the information.

The central 10-inch diagonal screen gives it access to connected multimedia and a multitude of settings, making it possible to lighten the appearance as much as possible by removing the buttons.

This is what Opel calls Digital Detox.

But rest assured, the air conditioning controls remain very physical, which remains much more practical in use.

Note also the trunk with a volume of 350 liters, in the category average (unfortunately reduced to 310l in electric) and its ultra-complete safety equipment inherited from the upper segments.

A good habit of the brand.

Vast choice under the hood

On the engine side, Opel leaves the choice: 100 or 130 hp in gasoline (1.2l Turbo), 110 hp in diesel (1.5l) and 100 kW / 136 hp for the 100% electric Mokka-e taken in hand.

The brand had promised dynamism?

She didn't lie!

Firm on its suspensions, the SUV takes little roll, and its steering is sufficiently precise to give confidence in the winding roads.

Autonomy level, the announced 320 km do not seem unrealistic for those who know how to do it in eco-driving, and in particular knows how to take advantage of advanced regeneration (Mode B) wisely, as well as the various driving modes offered.

For our part, we noted an average of 18.8 kWh / 100km when returning the keys, or approximately 265 km real by alternating modes and driving styles.

Rather promising!

And finally, let's cringe at this cliché that today all cars are the same.

Some people know that the technical basis of the Mokka is strictly identical to those of the Peugeot 208 and 2008, Citroën C4, DS3 Crossback, and of course Opel Corsa.

So many vehicles that could not be more different, inside and out, and even in the feeling that each one provides.

CQFD.

The base prices of the Opel Mokka are set at € 21,300 in gasoline, € 23,750 in diesel and € 36,100 in electric.
