The Dubai Economy confirmed the closure of 14 commercial establishments, warning of 30 facilities, in addition to the signing of 213 violations against other facilities, during January 2021, for not adhering to the precautionary measures to combat the emerging corona virus (Covid-19).

Dubai Economy stressed the need to adhere to the precautionary measures, and to report any violation or abuse in commercial establishments through the application of "Dubai Consumer", pointing out that the precautionary measures include: wearing masks and physical distancing, in various areas of open markets and commercial centers in Dubai.

The violations were distributed among various commercial activities, the most prominent of which was commercial activities that receive the public, or have the potential for overcrowding, due to the lack of sufficient distance to apply physical distancing.

The first director of the field control department at Dubai Economy, Hassan Bonfour, said that the field work team is keen to cover all areas in the emirate of Dubai, to ensure that commercial establishments adhere to the precautionary measures, revealing that the number of stores that meet the conditions and precautionary measures in January reached 15 thousand and 45 stores.
