Hessa Buhumaid said, “The UAE government believes in the importance of strengthening international cooperation and partnerships with various governments, especially in light of the consequences of what the world faced during the year 2020, as a result of the emerging Corona virus (Covid-19), which confirmed the great interdependence in today's world, and contributed to The reliance on the digital world has doubled and the focus is on distance learning and remote work, which requires strengthening cybersecurity to protect and develop societies.

This came during Buhumaid’s participation in a virtual dialogue session entitled “Enhancing the security and safety of digital content”, under the topic “Harnessing the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, within the activities of the World Economic Forum “Davos Agenda 2021”, which is organized this year under the slogan “A pivotal year for restoring Building confidence".

The Minister of Community Development added that the UAE is keen to enhance the quality of digital life, by launching a number of initiatives that keep pace with the changes in the digital world, and by enacting advanced laws and innovative legislation that guarantee the rights of individuals, and developing technical standards and tools to respond to challenges and address them, and protect digital services. Referring to the issuance of the Cybercrime Law in 2006, which was updated in 2012 to keep pace with the most important changes in the digital world, in addition to the establishment of the National Computer Emergency Response Team (aeCERT) in 2008.

Buhumaid touched on the national policy for the quality of digital life that was launched within the Digital Life Quality Program, representing the most prominent initiatives of the Digital Quality of Life Council, headed by Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, whose membership includes 10 government agencies. It aims to establish a safe digital society in the UAE, and to promote a positive identity with meaningful digital interaction.

She said that building government digital capabilities is a pillar to protect the digital infrastructure, and it is done by providing government human cadres with the necessary skills to analyze and address challenges, enhance digital and security awareness, and launch awareness campaigns focusing on the principles of safe use of websites.

The Minister of Community Development added that the national policy for the quality of digital life is based on four axes, including “digital capabilities” by building the capacities of community members and enabling them to use the Internet in a conscious and sound manner, the “digital behavior” axis to promote positive digital values ​​and behaviors, and the “digital content” axis. Which focuses on preparing evidence that enables the community to use positive content, in addition to "digital communication" to protect users from cyber challenges.
