Self-employed workers have reached a preliminary agreement with the Government to extend the plan of aid for cessation of activity from which they have benefited since last March but obtaining notable improvements compared to previous phases.

In this way, they join

CEOE

, which has indicated this morning that it approves the new scheme,

Cepyme

, which will foreseeably do so this afternoon, and the unions, which are reviewing the text.

The agreement of the self-employed is negotiated with Social Security and focuses on the exemptions of quotas and conditions of access of the collective status of three million workers to aid for

terminations of activity caused by the administrative strategy to combat Covid,

be it in the form of schedules or capacity.

The National Federation of Associations of Self-Employed Workers (ATA) advanced on Tuesday that the requests it has made to the Government will be included in the new aid scheme.

100% of the fee will be exonerated

to those whose business is affected by capacity and schedule limitations that record a 50% drop in income.

The president of ATA,

Lorenzo Amor

, has explained that the main improvement is the benefit for cessation of activity, which has been made more flexible so that it can reach up to 700,000 beneficiaries, double the current figure.

Thus, the self-employed whose activity is restricted by schedule limitations or capacity by administrative decision may access the cessation of activity and have a 100% fee exemption if in the first semester of this year they prove a 50% drop in income % compared to the last semester of 2019.

The Government has also agreed to

suspend the rise in contribution rates of between three and 12 euros per month

that was going to apply from the beginning of this year as a result of the agreement signed with the previous PSOE government.

ATA had requested a suspension until 2022 but for now it is suspended until May 31.

In the same way, the pre-agreement on Covid aid for the self-employed eliminates the requirement of having been a beneficiary of the termination benefit between March and June 2020 to be able to receive it now and establishes improvements and removes obstacles for the seasonal self-employed benefits .
