Last year, the amount of stocks bought by individual investors in domestic and overseas stock markets exceeded 100 trillion won.



According to data from the financial investment industry and the Korea Securities Depository, the amount of domestic and foreign stocks net purchased by individuals from January last year to the 15th of this month was totaled at 102.2 trillion won.



The amount of net purchase in the domestic stock market was 77.8 trillion won, which was worth 47.5 trillion won last year in the KOSPI market, and 11 trillion won already this year.



The KOSDAQ market net purchased 18 trillion won, including 16 trillion won last year and 2.5 trillion won this year.



Individual funds that have been net purchased in the overseas stock market amounted to 21.7 trillion won based on the KRW 1,099 won exchange rate, and 2,700 billion won was bought this year as well.



Until the 15th of this month, the amount of individual investor stocks bought in the domestic stock market alone stood at 16.7 trillion won, which is 19.5% of the total size of last year.



On the other hand, in the case of banknotes, term deposits have decreased by close to 10 trillion won and credit loans have increased by more than 7 trillion won in the last two months.



The total balance of term deposits of the five major commercial banks as of the 14th was 630 trillion 985 billion won, down 9,739.9 billion won from the end of October last year.
