Finally, the Competition and Consumer Protection Department at the Ministry of Economy revealed to Emirates Today that it is currently working on developing an electronic program for the recall, and accomplishing the smart transformation of the recall process, through direct linking with companies in the local market, and improving the terms of the recall, to enhance the protection of consumers from Any damages they might face as a result.
She explained that there is currently a link on the website of the Ministry of Economy, through which the summons are published, at a time when the site is constantly being updated, to include all that is new, and the summons request can also be submitted via the website.
Recalls of defective goods are carried out under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy, in full cooperation with the commodity manufacturers and agents in the country.
The recall operations aim to protect the health and safety of consumers in the country, and to ensure consumers' rights to protection from products that are likely to expose them to any danger.
