The price of electricity is at a maximum of 12 years
and the only solution offered by the Government is to entrust it at the turn of the wind which, foreseeably, will occur next Monday and which could allow a significant reduction.
But in the meantime, users will have to face an increase in their bills, and therefore it is important to know how the impact can be minimized.
PAY ATTENTION TO THE ENERGY LABELS
The information related to the energy efficiency of the
Home appliances marketed in Spain can be found on the energy label that must appear at the time of sale.
If you need to renovate any of your appliances, buy the ones with A +, A ++ or A +++ energy labels.
These have a higher price, but in the long run they will save you on your electricity bill.
As of March 1, a new energy labeling will be introduced in the EU
in order to make the information clearer for the consumer.
Due to the stoppage caused by the coronavirus crisis, the launch date of this new labeling in stores may be delayed.
USE THE DISHWASHER AND WASHING MACHINE EFFICIENTLY
It is advisable
fill both washing machines and dishwashers to the maximum
.
Avoid half loads.
Also, wash clothes at 40º instead of 60º, this will save 55% energy.
THE INDUCTION HOB IS THE MOST EFFICIENT
For cooking, the most recommended is the induction hob as it consumes less energy than the glass ceramics and gas.
you can save by cooking with cookware with the correct diameter
and using lids that help conserve heat.
KEEP THE REFRIGERATOR AT THE OPTIMAL TEMPERATURE
The most optimal temperatures are
between 3º and 7º and that of the freezer between -20ºC and -18ºC.
Regularly remove any frost that may accumulate in the freezer.
Failure to do so can increase energy consumption by 30%.
Try to put food as hot as possible in the freezer
since this supposes an extra effort for the freezer that increases the consumption.
USE LOW CONSUMPTION BULBS
A 60W incandescent bulb has a consumption of 0.06 Kw, while its equivalent in a
7W LED bulb only consumes 0.007 Kw.
Although they are more expensive, they last longer.
LED bulbs have a longevity of 25,000 hours compared to 4,000 hours for incandescent bulbs.
Replacing incandescent bulbs with LEDs saves 90% energy. Make the most of natural light and clean both lamps and bulbs regularly.
USE HEATING EFFICIENTLY
Make sure you keep your home at the temperature you really need.
It is best to keep the house in winter
between 19ºC and 20ºC and between 24º and 26º in summer.
Lowering the heating to 16º at night can reduce consumption by 13%.
Avoid covering the radiators with radiator covers or clothing to prevent them from reaching the desired temperature and increasing their power and consequently also the bill.
TURN OFF UNUSED PLUGS
The 'stand by' or false shutdown mode can represent 10% of the electricity bill.
Remember to unplug the chargers as they continue to consume power after use.
