There are 8 candidates for the public redevelopment pilot project selected by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Seoul.

It includes Heukseok District 2 in Dongjak-gu, Yangpyeong 13 and 14 Districts in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Yongdu 1-6 and New 1 District in Dongdaemun-gu, Bongcheon 13 in Gwanak-gu, Sinmun-ro 2-12 in Jongno-gu, and Gangbuk 5 district in Gangbuk-gu.

All of them are existing maintenance zones located in the station area, but due to lack of business feasibility and conflicts between residents, projects have been stagnated for more than 10 years on average even after being designated as maintenance areas.

The existing households are all 1,700, but when redevelopment is completed, it is expected to increase to 4,700.

To prevent speculation, the government has decided to designate all eight areas as land transaction permit zones.

The public redevelopment project is a project that uses half of the newly created houses for public lease, excluding the pre-sale for members, instead of lifting regulations such as raising the floor area ratio and excluding the pre-sale price ceiling.

Today (15th), Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki, who announced this at the New Year's first meeting of related ministers for real estate market inspection, emphasized that he will focus on supplying new homes in the new year.

[Nam-Ki Hong/Deputy Prime Minister of Economy: We will do our best to secure the available housing volume while maintaining the policy stance of blocking speculative demand and protecting end users again this year.]
