As indicated on the regulator's website, Russia's international reserves as of January 1 amounted to $ 597.4 billion.

"International reserves as of January 1, 2021 amounted to $ 597.4 billion, an increase over the week by $ 5.0 billion, or 0.8%," the statement said.

It is noted that the increase in reserves occurred mainly as a result of a positive exchange rate revaluation and an increase in gold prices, as well as the receipt of foreign exchange funds from resident credit institutions under currency swap transactions.

It is specified that as of January 8, the volume of the international reserves of the Russian Federation compared to January 1, practically did not change.
