Capcom, a major game software company, announced that it was confirmed that personal information of about 16,400 business partners was leaked in a cyber attack received in November 2020.

The company continues to investigate that information for up to about 390,000 people may have been leaked.

In November 2020, Capcom was attacked by a cyber attack by a group called "Laguna Locker" and was asked for money, so it reported to the police and investigated the damage situation.

As a result, it was found that the personal information of 16,415 people was leaked.

What was leaked was the name, address, telephone number, etc. of the business partner, as well as the personnel information of company employees and retirees.

In addition, the amount of personal information that may have been leaked has increased by about 40,000 more than before, reaching a maximum of about 390,000, and the company is continuing to investigate.

On the other hand, since the settlement of online sales of game software etc. is outsourced, credit card information etc. is not leaked.

It is said that you will not be damaged by connecting to the Internet and playing games.

Capcom commented, "We take this situation very seriously, and as a company that handles digital content, we will strive to strengthen our management system and take strict measures against criminal acts such as unauthorized access."

The company has a dedicated telephone counter to handle inquiries.
