China News Service, Nanning, January 11 (Huang Lingyan and Chen Fang) Wang Lei, Secretary-General of the Secretariat of the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO), introduced on the 11th that the China-ASEAN Expo's upgrade and development strategy is being implemented at an accelerated pace, using the already formed cooperation with ASEAN First-mover advantage and a stable and mature mechanism for organizing the conference, strive to hold the RCEP summit forum, extending from serving China-ASEAN "10+1" to serving RCEP "10+5", and actively expanding into the China-ASEAN Expo and RCEP Expo.

  The China-ASEAN Expo, co-organized by the economic and trade authorities of China and the 10 ASEAN countries and the ASEAN Secretariat, is open to the world while serving bilateral cooperation.

In the previous China-ASEAN Expo, in conjunction with the RCEP negotiation process, enterprises from countries (regions) outside the region were invited to participate. Among the RCEP countries, Australia and South Korea have participated as special partners.

  The 17th China-ASEAN Expo will be held in Nanning in November 2020, which coincides with the signing of RCEP.

Wang Lei said that the content of the exhibition has been upgraded, focusing on the display of "Internet +" smart energy, smart robots and electronic equipment products based on 5G technology. The launch of Indonesian steamship coffee, Laos Jinzhamba tea, Myanmar beer and other high-quality batches Brand products to better meet the needs of the RCEP market.

  Wang Lei said that the preparations for the 18th CAEXPO will be launched as early as 2021, and the RCEP summit forum, the meeting of economic and trade ministers and foreign ministers will be held at the same time to further enhance the diplomatic status of the CAEXPO.

  According to Wang Lei, the upgrading and development of the China-ASEAN Expo also includes the establishment of a China-ASEAN economic and trade center to provide financial, taxation, legal, conference, and customs services for investment and trade companies in and outside the region.

  2021 is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of dialogue relations between China and ASEAN.

The information provided by the secretariat of the China-ASEAN Expo also shows that it is striving to hold relevant commemorative summits during the 18th China-ASEAN Expo, inviting the main leaders of China and the heads of state and government of the 10 ASEAN countries to attend, and issuing the "Nanning Joint Statement."
