The Dubai Customs Department has reviewed its efforts to develop customs work and the achievements it has made during the year 2020, despite the challenges of the global crisis resulting from the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Dubai Customs confirmed that it continued to direct strikes, which it described as "painful", to drug traffickers and thwart their attempts to smuggle narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances through Dubai customs ports during the year 2020, pointing out that Dubai's foreign trade has maintained its momentum, despite the challenges that accompanied the pandemic, at a time. Dubai Customs pointed to the development of a smart cross-border e-commerce platform, the first of its kind in the region, in cooperation with its partners.
