The Hebrew state is breaking all records in terms of vaccination against Covid-19 with more than one million people vaccinated.

But it also breaks records in terms of new contaminations.

The country has gone from 1,000 daily cases in early December to six times more today.

And Israeli officials cannot agree on strengthening the containment already in place.

War is declared at the top of the state.

At the end of December,

the ruling coalition

shattered and now everyone seems to be defending their own interests.

Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu, champion of vaccination, also calls for a strengthening of general containment.

Vaccinate, protect the Israelis: he wants to appear as their savior.

But behind the general interest, there are electoral aims, with the legislative elections of next March in sight.

His rival in government, Benny Gantz of the Blue White party, has nothing more to lose, and does not intend to make it easier for Benjamin Netanyahu.

Once allies, the two men had to share power.

Benny Gantz now finds himself on the sidelines, betrayed by the Prime Minister who precipitated the dissolution of Parliament.

The Bleu Blanc party affirms that it does not want to give in to hysteria and to wait another week before putting in place or not, possible reinforced restrictive measures.

But the virus does not wait for political decisions.

Nearly 7,000 new cases were recorded on Sunday January 3.
