Dubai Airports confirmed that it is preparing to increase the number of passengers expected to pass through Dubai International Airport during the next few days, especially in the period between January 1 and 7, 2021.

"An estimated 545,000 passengers are expected to use Dubai International Airport," said Vice President of Operations at Dubai Airports, Issa Al Shamsi, noting that a large part of them will be on the second and third of January, which will be the busiest days of the week with More than 78 thousand passengers departed.

Travel requirements

Dubai Airports stated, in a statement, that given that travel requirements have changed globally in recent weeks and months, due to the emerging corona virus pandemic, it strongly urges all travelers to check, permanently, with their airline, to obtain Information about the travel requirements for their flight, as well as making sure of the terminal from which the flight will be departing or arriving before arriving at the airport, and knowledge of the travel requirements of the country they will be traveling to (including a negative PCR test report before the start of the flight).

Dubai Airports also stressed the need to wear protective face masks, while maintaining physical distancing at the airport at all times, refraining from traveling and seeking medical advice, if the traveler suffers any symptoms related to the pandemic.

It also called on travelers to ensure that their travel documents (passport and visa) are updated and valid before heading to the airport, and not to accompany non-traveling companions, to avoid crowding.

Precautionary measures

Dubai Airports affirmed that it is working closely with its service and commercial partners, including more than 50 international airlines, about 90 food and beverage franchisees, and health and control authorities, to ensure the comfort and convenience of travelers.

She explained that it has implemented a series of precautionary measures throughout the airport, to preserve the health and safety of travelers and employees, noting that these measures include the presence of hand sanitizer stations around the airport, protective plexiglass upon check-in, passport counters, remote thermal checks, and social distancing signs. And increase the levels of cleaning and sterilization, in accordance with international standards as stipulated by the relevant local authorities.
