ADAC -

DR

To check these volumes, ADAC used small blocks with which it filled the trunk of 150 different cars.

It turns out that cheating is more important on big cars.

For example, the Volvo XC90 can take 475 liters of luggage, against 721 liters advertised.

The record holder of the test is the Volkswagen Sharan which displays a difference of 325 liters compared to the data communicated by its manufacturer!

According to ADAC, the figures are much more accurate on entry-level models such as the Dacia Duster whose trunk is 3 liters smaller than advertised.

The German organization especially points to the calculation methods, very different from one manufacturer to another.

When purchasing a new vehicle, it is therefore advisable to consider the volumes announced as an estimate.
