• 10,000 million in total The Government benefits Andalusia and Catalonia over Madrid in the distribution of European funds

The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, stated this Tuesday that the distribution of European funds is thinking

"against the people of Madrid" and that "such discrimination has never been seen

For this reason, he has assured that his Government will denounce "this mistreatment" in Brussels and wherever necessary.

According to the regional leader, Catalonia will receive 17% more Covid aid than Madrid despite the fact that both autonomies have a "similar weight in the contribution to GDP."

In his opinion, the "

support for the independence movement by the Executive of Pedro Sánchez

will mean that Madrid people receive 422 million euros less.

"Why this discrimination and who benefits?"

Diaz Ayuso wondered.

As he has argued, money is needed by "everyone to face the effects of the crisis" and has argued that, "despite the discrepancies" with Moncloa, his team has shown that it is a government of "dialogue."

Ayuso's reaction takes place just a few hours after the Treasury communicated, on the afternoon of this Monday, the distribution between the communities of the 10,000 million euros from European funds between 2021 and 2022. And according to the figures communicated by the department headed by María Jesús Montero, the Community of Madrid will be the third region that receives the most funds, although at a notable distance from Andalusia and Catalonia.

Madrid will receive 1,284 million, which represents 12.8% of the total

Andalusia, for its part, will receive 1,881 million, which represents 18.8%, and the total amount for Catalonia will rise to 1,706 million (17.1%)
