Kawasaki Heavy Industries, a major machinery manufacturer, has revealed that there was unauthorized access to domestic data centers that manage customer information via overseas bases.

It means that some information may have been leaked to the outside.

According to the announcement, Kawasaki Heavy Industries regularly audits the system in June when there was an unauthorized access to a Japanese data center that manages customer information via a base in Thailand. I understand.

After that, unauthorized access was confirmed in Japan from bases in Indonesia, the Philippines, and the United States, and among them, evidence of data being sent outside the company was found from the base in Thailand, and some information may have leaked to the outside. That is.

As a result of restricting domestic communication with all overseas bases and investigating about 30,000 terminals in detail, the company says that unauthorized access has not been confirmed since August.

It seems that someone illegally obtained the ID and password of the in-house system, but it is not known in detail how much information may have been leaked, and we are continuing to investigate with an external specialized agency on security. ..

Kawasaki Heavy Industries says, "We deeply apologize for the inconvenience and concern caused to our customers and other related parties."
