On December 26, the 8th China Tourism Industry Development Annual Conference was held in Changchun City, Jilin Province. Wang Zhifa, vice chairman of the China Urbanization Promotion Association and honorary dean of the School of Tourism of the Open University of China, said at the meeting that the overall quality of employees is low. The reason for the outstanding shortcomings of the tourism industry is that, as an emerging industry that has developed rapidly in recent years, education and training and talent construction in related fields of the tourism industry cannot keep up with the pace of industrial development.

Wang Zhifa said that there is currently no tourism university in China. The low status of tourism disciplines and the small scale of running schools have affected the quality of tourism talent training.
