Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved the protocol on amendments to the agreement between Russia and Malta on the avoidance of double taxation. In the near future, the draft federal law on the ratification of the protocol will be submitted to the State Duma, the government said.
After approval by the lower house of parliament, it will be considered by the Federation Council and approved by the president, they added.
The amendment protocol was signed in early October.
The Convention for the avoidance of double taxation provides for an increase in the withholding tax rate to 15% on dividends and interest.
