The Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Center in the country reported that the UAE’s production of electricity, using renewable energy sources, increased by 190% within one year, reaching 3,779.8 gigawatt hours per hour by the end of 2019, of which 3550 gigawatt hours per hour of solar photovoltaic energy, and 229.8 GWh from concentrated solar power, compared to 1,303.1 GWh by the end of 2018.

The center stated in a report issued yesterday on the production of electricity from renewable energy sources that the UAE's production of electricity using renewable energy sources has made great leaps over the past 11 years, reaching 6.3 gigawatts per hour by the end of 2009, then increased to 17.1 gigawatts Per hour by the end of 2010, then to 18 gigawatt hours by the end of 2011, then to 18.6 gigawatt-hours by the end of 2012, and then jumped to 75.4 gigawatt-hours by the end of 2013.
