The third million-kilowatt unit runner installed by the Tan Electromechanical Project Department in Baihetan Hydropower Station within 5 months is also the sixth "heart" of the Baihetan Hydropower Station million units installed in place.

The runner is called the "heart" of the hydro-generator unit, which is directly related to the stability and energy conversion efficiency of the unit.
The runners of units 9 to 16 of Baihetan Hydropower Station are both long and short blade runners independently developed by China for the world's largest single-unit capacity of 1 million kilowatts. It has the characteristics of "optimal performance, optimal structure, and high safety and reliability".
The No. 16 runner that was hoisted this time has a diameter of 8.87 meters, a height of 3.79 meters, and a total weight of 338 tons. It is one of the core components of the whole unit and the first large part officially hoisted in the installation The hoisting process lasted nearly 60 minutes, spanning more than 230 meters across the plant, and finally fell into the pit 16 accurately and steadily.
The successful placement of the runner will provide another guarantee for the scheduled commissioning of the first batch of units next year.

In order to ensure the safe and smooth installation of the runner of Unit 16 in place, Gezhouba Electromechanical Company carried out a comprehensive inspection and cleaning of the runner without dead angles, and calculated an accurate stretch value, and installed the special spreader in place.
Before the formal hoisting, three different height landing tests were carried out to check the safety readiness of each link of the hoisting.
During the hoisting process, multi-angle and multi-directional safety personnel monitoring was set up to ensure the safe and smooth completion of the runner hoisting work.
Up to now, the first batch of production units of the Baihetan Right Bank Power Plant undertaken by Gezhouba Electromechanical Company has completed 80% of the final assembly of Unit 14 and Unit 15 has entered the final assembly stage. Subsequent unit installation has been fully implemented and advanced efficiently.

Located in Ningnan County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, and Qiaojia County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, Baihetan Hydropower Station is the world’s largest hydropower project under construction and a major project for the country’s “West-East Power Transmission” project.
The total installed capacity of the power station is 16 million kilowatts, and 8 units with the world's largest single-unit capacity of 1 million kilowatts are installed on the left and right banks.
After completion, its single hydro-generator can generate 24 million kWh of electricity per day.
It is expected that the power station will achieve the goal of connecting all units to the grid in July 2022.
