China News Service, Beijing, December 21 (Liu Liang) The State Council Information Office of China held a press conference on the 21st to release the white paper "China's Energy Development in the New Era".

The white paper pointed out that China's renewable energy development and utilization scale ranks first in the world.

The white paper shows that as of the end of 2019, China's total installed capacity of renewable energy power generation was 790 million kilowatts, accounting for approximately 30% of the world's total renewable energy power generation capacity.

Among them, the installed capacity of hydropower, wind power, photovoltaic power generation, and biomass power generation ranks first in the world.

Since 2010, China has invested approximately US$818 billion in new energy power generation, accounting for 30% of the global investment in new energy power generation construction during the same period.

At the same time, China's renewable energy heating is also widely used.

The white paper pointed out that by the end of 2019, China's solar water heaters had a cumulative heat collection area of 500 million square meters, and shallow and medium-deep geothermal heating buildings had more than 1.1 billion square meters.

The white paper pointed out that China's wind power and photovoltaic power generation equipment manufacturing has formed a complete industrial chain, and its technological level and manufacturing scale are among the world's forefront.

In 2019, China's production of polysilicon, photovoltaic cells, and photovoltaic modules accounted for approximately 67%, 79%, and 71% of the total global output, respectively, and photovoltaic products were exported to more than 200 countries and regions.

Wind power equipment manufacturing accounts for 41% of the world's total output and has become an important area in the global wind power equipment manufacturing industry chain.

Zhang Jianhua, director of the National Energy Administration of China, said at the press conference that at present, China has become the world's largest energy producer and energy consumer.

In the future, China will increase the clean development and utilization of coal; promote low-carbon energy to replace high-carbon energy; use the construction of a new generation of information infrastructure as an opportunity to promote the development of energy digitization and intelligence.
