China News Service, Chengdu, December 21 (Chen Junde and Zhang Lang) On the 21st, 46 containers filled with 1,200 tons of Russian barley were transported to Chengdu International Railway Port on the China-Europe Express (Chengdu). This is the first barley train in Sichuan. New breakthroughs in the channels and categories of imported grain in Sichuan have been promoted to help the development of the grain deep processing industry in Sichuan.

It is reported that this batch of barley imported from Russia will be used as a raw material for further processing of grain and will be further sold to markets in Mianyang, Nanchong and other places upon arrival.

According to Chen Mingqian, the person in charge of Chengdu Jiayuan Tongyang Trading Co., Ltd., this is the first time the company has imported barley through China-Europe Express (Chengdu).

Departing from Novosibirsk, Russia to Chengdu, it only took more than 10 days, which is not only faster, but also safer.

The company's second imported barley train has started packing and will be shipped before the end of the month.

It is understood that Sichuan is accelerating the transformation from a large agricultural province to a strong agricultural province, and actively promotes the deep processing of agricultural products such as grain. There is a huge demand for green, natural, high-quality and high-priced food raw materials in Russia and other countries.

The barley special list has expanded new supply channels for enterprises, further served local production capacity, and supplemented the strong domestic grain supply chain.

Relying on international trains and China-Europe trains, Chengdu already has a designated port of entry grain, which officially passed the inspection in May 2019, and is speeding up the opening of major global grain export channels such as Russia, Southeast Asia, and Central Asia.

In the near future, the import business of various grain and oil products such as wheat, rice, linseed, and sunflower oil will be carried out one after another to ensure the security of domestic food supply and help stabilize the grain and oil supply chain market.
