Financial institutions recruit you to pass a few levels: AI interview, Lego, blindfolded puzzles are all here

Sino-Singapore Jingwei Client, December 22 (Wei Wei, intern Yu Yanchen) Recently, the autumn campus recruitment of financial institutions has basically come to an end.

Different from previous years, the interview format of financial institutions this year is more novel. Some institutions adopted AI interviews in the first round of interviews, and some institutions added Lego, blindfolded puzzles and other games to the interview.

"AI Video Interview" also brushes people

Recently, Li Siqi, 24 this year, received a medical examination notice from a major state-owned company, which may be about to end her half-year autumn recruitment journey.

"We can't take it lightly. I heard that the medical examination is one to three admission." Li Siqi said.

Since September, Li Siqi has started all the overseas investment. Banks, insurance, funds, securities companies, and Internet companies have not let it go. She has roughly the final say, and she has invested at least one hundred resumes.

Although she was a financial student from the top five domestic colleges and universities, she did not dare to take it lightly, and in the end only half gave her the opportunity to take a written exam.

"Although everyone is complaining about the written test questions in campus recruitment this time, I feel that the final pass rate is quite high. 80% of the written tests I took have passed." Li Siqi said.

But during the interview, he clearly entered the cruel stage of recruiting.

Li Siqi discovered that this year, in addition to the usual unleaded group discussions, structured or semi-structured interviews, many financial institutions used AI video interviews in their first round of interviews.

"For example, for an AI video interview of a brokerage firm, scan the code on WeChat to enter the mini program, and the question will be displayed on the screen. After seeing the question, there will be 30 seconds to think. The examinee can answer the camera and answer 3 questions within 10 minutes. I heard that the backstage will be scored based on the fluency of your language expression, personal image, etc." Li Siqi said that this round is not a formality, but will also brush people.

Su Xiao, who was studying at a 985 college in Beijing, also participated in an AI video interview with a bank’s head office. She introduced that the problems she encountered can be roughly divided into two categories, one is the behavioral bias, for example, the one you have the most challenging in college. Things; the other is the opinion category, such as commenting on a certain social phenomenon.

"Many people are still not comfortable answering the camera, and sometimes there will be situations where the connection needs to be re-recorded." Su Xiao said.

Netizens discuss the source of AI interview: Weibo

According to the AI Dexian recruitment official website, the principle of AI video interview is to analyze the content, expression and voice characteristics of candidates. AI will automatically match the competency model of the position, conduct a fair and impartial evaluation and score, and finally provide Talent evaluation report.

Business managers only need to make a second choice to screen out competent candidates.

"In the first round of screening, due to the large number of applicants recruited on campus, AI interviews can replace labor, effectively reduce costs and improve interview efficiency." A related person from the financial technology department of a joint-stock bank introduced that AI interviews have a set of scoring logic , Such as the fluency of answering questions, the reach rate of keywords, the etiquette and tone of candidates, etc., comprehensively score candidates through multiple dimensions.

Take the Lego, blindfolded puzzle game to break through

In addition to AI interviews, the interview questions of financial institutions are also very open. Some play blindfolded jigsaw puzzles, and some build Lego blocks.

Li Siqi told the Sino-Singapore Jingwei client that the interview experience of a joint-stock bank had left a deep impression on her. She recalled that after entering the examination room on both sides, she immediately started to play a blindfolded jigsaw puzzle. There were 48 graphics in different shapes and colors. The interviewer randomly selected a few pictures. Through the team's 45-minute blindfolded discussion, the number, shape, and color of the extracted graphics were obtained. Finally, one person was selected for a 3-minute blindfolded explanation.

"Everyone was blindfolded and discussed for more than an hour, it was still very difficult." She said.

Su Xiao participated in an interview at the head office of another joint-stock bank, and Li Siqi still remembered this interview.

"Although it was in the form of a non-leadership group discussion, the background of the materials given was a murder case. There were six suspects and one deceased. It was necessary to infer the true culprit. In addition to the materials given, the students were given 30 yuan. You can bid for clues from the examiner. Similar to a script kill, we are the role of a detective." The student recalled that in the process, he once forgot that he was attending an interview.

Zhang Minglan, a recent graduate from a college in Changsha, told the Sino-Singapore Jingwei client that when he entered a certain state-owned bank group, he encountered a link to spell Lego and explain.

"The examiner will give the examinee a topic, such as designing an unmanned bank. The examinee will use Lego to design and build out this topic, and then introduce their own ideas and opinions, which is to make the abstract problem concrete." She said, although the topic is difficult It's big, but it will relieve tension.

A human resource person on a recruitment website told the Sino-Singapore Jingwei client that in fact, various game formats have similar meanings to the absence of a leading group, and it is mainly a way to quickly evaluate the comprehensive ability of candidates.

Science and engineering are more popular than finance

Li Siqi said frankly that he graduated from a 211 finance and economics college in China with a bachelor's degree, and graduated from finance majors in the top five domestic colleges and universities. He has internship experience in banking, insurance, investment banking and other financial institutions, but he is still inferior to students with a science and engineering background. She has only received 2 offers so far.

"My classmate has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in computer science, and the school is not bad, but he has no institutional internship experience. In the end he received offers from 5 financial institutions." Li Siqi envied.

Chen Yu studied computer science at a certain 211 university in Beijing, and is now an intern in a joint-stock bank.

"I never wanted to work in a financial institution before, but when I was looking for a job, I found that it was difficult to get into an Internet company." Chen Yu told the Sino-Singapore Jingwei client that he also invested a lot of resumes during the autumn recruitment and found that the bank did not require high technology. You don't need 996 to work, and you can still solve Beijing Hukou.

The Sino-Singapore Jingwei client found that banks, securities firms, insurance companies and other companies have increased their efforts to recruit financial technology talents this autumn.

For example, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China launched the "Technology Elite Program", which mainly provides scientific and technological talent reserves for product development, user research, big data analysis, platform construction, information security and management.

Among the 2021 campus recruitment job requirements of the China Construction Bank headquarters, the Office of the Digital Construction Committee (Product Innovation and Management Department) recruits 10 people.

According to Dong Ximiao, chief researcher of China Merchants Finance, economics and finance are still one of the most needed majors for banks.

But the recruitment of talents for banks has long been not limited to economics and finance-related majors, and there is a need for talents with various professional backgrounds.

Dong Ximiao once wrote that, from the campus recruitment announcements issued by large banks in recent years, it can be seen that most positions are often not limited to majors or have relatively broad professional requirements, and financial technology-related professionals are obviously favored.

Since 2019, many banks have separately listed financial technology talent recruitment plans and held special recruitment activities for information technology talents.

"With the development of financial technology and the accelerated digital transformation of banks, the demand for talents with science and engineering backgrounds such as computer and mathematics has increased." Dong Ximiao pointed out to the Sino-Singapore Jingwei client that under this background, it is necessary to understand both technology and finance. , Talents with high comprehensive quality and broad vision are in great demand for banks.
