The implementation of this directive will speed up the marketing of DAB + compatible car radio receivers, eliminating those only AM / FM.

In France, in the first half of 2020, 59% of new cars were already equipped as standard with a DAB + compatible audio system, and 33% were equipped as an option, bringing the total of DAB + car radios available in new vehicles to 92% .

With the entry into force of the new directive, logically 100% of new vehicles will be equipped with it.

In addition to greater listening comfort than FM (no crackling, no cuts), the advantage of a DAB + car radio is that it can also receive analogue FM programs.

For the channels available in FM and DAB +, the device chooses the best reception depending on the location, giving priority to digital.
