China News Service, Urumqi, December 17 (Yuan Bo, Zhang Rui, Huang Hong) A reporter learned from PetroChina Xinjiang Oilfield on the 17th that the Xinjiang Oilfield was acquired from the risky exploratory well Hutan 1 well in Hutubi County on the 16th in the middle section of the southern margin of the Junggar Basin. A major breakthrough, high-yield industrial oil and gas streams were tested in the 7367-7382m well section, with a daily output of 610,000 cubic meters of natural gas and 106.3 cubic meters of crude oil.

According to reports, the breakthrough of Well Hutan 1 is the first breakthrough in Xinjiang Oilfield after the high yield of 1,000 tons of crude oil from Well Gaotan 1 in the western section of the southern margin of the Junggar Basin. Significant discoveries in natural gas exploration have demonstrated the huge potential of natural gas exploration in the middle section of the southern margin of the Junggar Basin and the new pattern of "simultaneous advancement of oil and gas" in the basin’s large-scale reserves.

It is reported that the exploration area of the middle section of the southern margin of the Junggar Basin is 15,000 square kilometers, of which Hutan 1 has a favorable exploration area of nearly 160 square kilometers. The preliminary estimate of the gas reservoir size is 100 billion cubic meters.

Since the beginning of this year, facing the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, Xinjiang Oilfield has fully implemented PetroChina’s acceleration of domestic oil and gas business development planning and deployment, insisted on efficient exploration and simultaneous oil and gas, made every effort to overcome the impact of the epidemic, and continued to increase oil and gas exploration efforts. Many important discoveries have been made in Shawan Sag and Fukang Sag.

Recently, another major strategic exploration breakthrough was obtained in Well Hutan 1 in the middle section of the southern margin.

Currently, Xinjiang Oilfield is entering a new round of exploration discoveries and reserves growth peak period. The Junggar Basin presents a new exploration pattern of "full basins of oil and half basins of gas".

Xinjiang Oilfield stated that the next step will be to scientifically deploy exploration work during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, highlight efficient exploration, continue to optimize deployment, and strive to increase scale-efficient reserves, especially economically recoverable reserves.

Overall deployment, step-by-step implementation, key breakthroughs, highlight the focus of exploration in the main attack area, strengthen the succession area to throw off the exploration, accelerate the breakthrough in the natural gas field, sort out more than ten risk strategic goals every year, and strive to achieve 2-3 major breakthroughs every year. The main force in increasing domestic crude oil reserves and production.
