Bourse de l'Immobilier

  • Founded in 1980 in Libourne, La Bourse de l'Immobilier now has 481 agencies throughout France.

  • In a context of crisis, the real estate market held up fairly well in 2020, analyzes the director of the company, which recorded a 2% increase in its turnover.

  • Recruitments will be used to support the opening of around fifty new agencies in France, as well as the digitalization of the profession which accelerated in 2020 with in particular the virtual visit which is becoming more democratic.

The good news on the front of the economy and employment, are not legion at the end of this year 2020 marked by a historic health crisis, and which could give way to a large-scale economic crisis in 2021. So, when La Bourse de l'Immobilier announces a recruitment plan for 750 people, that is necessarily intriguing.

20 Minutes

asked its director, Benjamin Salah, about the situation of the company and the real estate market in France.

You are announcing the recruitment of 750 people in 2021, is that quite surprising in the current context?

In fact, it was the development plan that we established a year ago, before the crisis.

Being able to maintain it after this absolutely crazy year is indeed a real satisfaction.

We are fortunate to be in a market which is resisting rather well, it must be admitted, and our turnover is increasing by 2%, which in itself is not extraordinary, but at the end of a year like this -that's remarkable.

In what sectors are you recruiting, and for what type of profiles?

We will have jobs created in commercial functions, we will also need around 100 managers, in particular because we are planning to open around 50 new agencies, and there will also be creations in the legal and communication fields. , IT, at the head office in Bordeaux, which we are expanding.

We will have to support the accelerating digitization phenomenon.

We anticipate 250 new hires in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, including 100 in the Gironde (applications on immobilier-recrutement.fr).

I believe that this validates the family model of the company, which we have kept since its creation in 1980 in Libourne, while we have grown considerably since we now have 481 agencies in France, with complementary poles of activity, which represents a total of 2,300 employees.

Is the profession changing after this special year?

In real estate, the virtual tour had already been started, but it took on a whole new scale in 2020. The use of the virtual tour is becoming more democratic, but I do not believe that we will buy a home behind a computer. main in the old.

For a main residence, we buy an environment, a district, shops, an atmosphere ... On the other hand, it is interesting on the first visit to avoid travel and get a first idea.

You said that the market in France has held up well, how does the year end and how do you anticipate 2021?

The real estate market is very solid in France, because there is a lack of housing ... Transaction volumes in the old have fallen by around 15 to 18% nationally, that's a lot, but that comes after a year 2019 which had been exceptional.

But since we have a shortage of goods for sale, prices will not collapse.

There may be a slight downward correction, in the order of 3% or 4%, which is perhaps desirable, but it is not even certain.

Look this year, everyone thought the prices were going to drop, and we end the year at + 5%!

It's amazing, I would never have bet on it.

And in a territory like the Gironde, the increase can be seen everywhere: in rural areas, on the coast as in Bordeaux.

It is a little more important in the Arcachon basin (+ 7%) than in Bordeaux (between + 2 and + 3%), but it is spectacular.

That said, we still expect 2021 to be tense, as there is an economic reality that at some point in time demand is likely to slow down, as is the borrowing capacity of our customers.
