  Reading tips

In the recruitment season, some of the "wonderful" test questions encountered by job seekers this year are on the hot search.

A person in charge of the human resources department of an enterprise said that the large number of questions and strange questions are not deliberately embarrassing.

Experts said that compared with the initial professional skills of job seekers, some employers value comprehensive quality and adaptability.

It's the annual recruitment season again.

The two themes of "finding a job" and "recruitment" have a different meaning.

In the first half of the year, some companies reported layoffs and salary cuts from time to time, and job-hopping and "difficulties in employment" became hot topics among professionals.

At the same time, offline communication is blocked, some manufacturing companies have a structural shortage of labor, and "difficulties in recruiting" are also facing many companies.

In this context, competition for some positions has become fiercer, and the recruitment and assessment content of many units have become more open.

This makes some "alternative" recruitment test questions questioned by job seekers.

Recently, job seekers have complained on the Internet. In this year's written test and interview, many "exotic" questions and test sites appeared, and related topics were once on hot search.

Recently, a reporter from "Workers Daily" interviewed job applicants who had encountered "wonderful" recruitment, heads of some corporate human resources and human resources experts, and explored the problems behind the "wonderful" test questions and those things in the job search.

"Wonderful" topic, helpless candidates

Before the National Day this year, student Xu from the School of Finance of a University in Beijing took a written test at a state-owned bank.

According to him, the recruitment threshold of this unit has always been high, with multiple rounds and difficulty.

Student Xu has made full preparations for this, but this year's exam questions are still beyond his imagination.

"Three-layer matrix, particle static energy formula, indefinite integral, advanced mathematics, principles of solar astronomy, atomic quantum numbers, Laurent series display, computer problems, linear algebra..." Xu recalled that the range of examination questions was very wide. And within 40 minutes, candidates need to complete 30 English single-choices and 5 long readings.

After the exam, Xu and the students who took the exam conducted a review. The financial comprehensive exam time was 180 minutes, and there were 297 questions, and an average of 36 seconds to complete one question.

"Some of them are weird and they don't seem to have much connection with the job application."

Tito is a recent undergraduate graduate of computer science and technology from a university in Xi’an. Not long ago, when he participated in the final interview of a company, the question he got was: If he prepared 4 glasses of water, but 5 leaders came, how should he allocate ?

Tito revealed that most of the applicants who went with him answered that they were assigned according to their position, and the leader with the lowest position was not given.

And these people have been eliminated.

"I said that I should pour all the water out and let the leaders criticize me instead of thinking that the company was not well received." In the end, Tito passed the interview, but he believed that this kind of topic should not appear.

There are also some female job-seekers who say that issues unrelated to their professions, such as marriage and childbirth, repeatedly appear on their way to job hunting.

Zhou Mei, 24, is a master's student majoring in organic chemistry at Tianjin University. This year, she submitted 37 resumes and communicated 269 times with BOSS.

"In the eyes of HR, 24 years old may be a stage of marriage and childbirth. In almost every interview, I will be asked questions such as whether to get married or when do I plan to have children." Zhou Mei hopes that HR can do more Concerned about her professional skills, the reality makes her helpless.

What answers do companies want to tricky questions?

"At present, the written test questions of some large companies will be entrusted to professional test agencies, combined with the company's culture, characteristics, needs and other aspects of the proposition, and some companies will refer to the civil service examination standards." A state-owned enterprise personnel department is responsible for college student recruitment Buduo said that in recent years, the recruitment market has become increasingly standardized and the design of test questions has become more professional.

"Some recruitment exams are designed with a large amount of test questions and job applicants can't finish them. This is not deliberately embarrassing everyone. It mainly depends on the breadth of everyone's knowledge and exploring the boundaries of each person's knowledge and ability, which is the same for everyone." Bu Duo said that such a large amount of questions has become a recruitment style.

Regarding some "alternative" questions in interviews, Mr. Chen, HR of a foreign company in Beijing, said: "Some interviewers like strange questions to test their ability to perform on the spot, break their original perfect state, and expose their best On the real side, let’s see what step they can do."

"The more tricky the question is, the ideal answer will often exceed common sense." Mr. Chen said that many companies and positions now require job seekers to step out of the common sense framework, be bold and unconstrained, and think divergently.

Therefore, job seekers should first consider the meaning behind the question itself, rather than first considering how perfect the answer is.

Finding a job is never easy

"Finding a job has always been not an easy task, and the topics in previous years have also been difficult." Liu Pingqing, director of the Industrial Development and Human Resource Development Research Center of Beijing Institute of Technology, believes that in recent years, more and more training institutions have appeared in the job market. , To teach job-seekers some fixed problem-solving and answering routines, and students who have participated in the training have similar ideas.

To a certain extent, companies produce some alternative questions to screen out people who are truly outstanding.

Zhao Kai, Assistant Professor of the Department of Human Resources Management, School of Labor and Human Resources, Renmin University of China, said: “In reality, some units and positions do not have very high requirements for the initial professional skills of graduates. What they need are general-purpose talents with high comprehensive quality. Communication, adaptability, and extensive knowledge. Therefore, some recruitment test questions will appear to have little to do with professionalism."

Regarding the tricky questions in the interview, experts believe that job seekers also need to be treated rationally.

"Some people have derogated people's sophistication, but it is important to learn to deal with people, be polite, respect oneself, and respect others." Liu Pingqing said that young people now have outstanding personalities, but some people are not good at getting along with others. For this reason, the school There is even a need for a special "communication and life" course.

Regarding female job-seekers' marriage, love, childbirth, and other issues that have nothing to do with job competence, Zhao Kai said that according to the principle of equal employment in the national labor law, job-seekers can refuse to answer these questions.

For some issues that obviously involve gender discrimination, job seekers can appeal, or even defend their rights through legal channels.
