Last (14th) night, the government applied the so-called'Netflix Act', the revised'Telecommunication Business Act Enforcement Decree' for the first time for Google services such as YouTube, which caused a disability for an hour.

The Ministry of Science and Technology Information and Communication today said, "We requested to submit data on relevant facts and measures to Google to determine the cause of the Google service failure. We took measures to notify domestic users of the service suspension in Korean." .

The Ministry of Science and ICT said, "After understanding the facts in the future, we will review necessary measures in accordance with the Enforcement Decree of the Telecommunications Business Act, if necessary."

The services that need to be accessed with a Google account, such as YouTube, mail, calendar, cloud, etc., became'eaters' for about an hour from 8:30 to 9:30 last night.

I was able to access services that could be used without login, such as the Google search engine, but I could not access services that required a personal account.

Google notified through official Twitter immediately after the accident, but did not provide a separate Korean guide.

However, immediately after the accident, the head office sent a position to the inquiries of the Ministry of Science and ICT.

The Ministry of Science and ICT said, "Google explained that the authentication system was stopped for about 45 minutes due to internal storage capacity problems around 2 am on the 15th in Korea time, and that the service requiring login showed a high error rate."

According to the Enforcement Decree of the Telecommunications Business Act, Google must determine the cause of the accident and the facts and submit it to the Ministry of Science and ICT by the 30th of this month.

An official from the Ministry of Science and ICT said, "Since we have requested to submit data, we will be able to determine the exact time and location of the disability in the future." .
