Amidst self-employed people's distress due to the social distancing caused by Corona 19, voice and messenger phishing (scam calls and text messages) abusing the psychology of those who are desperate for money are on the rise.

Words reminiscent of the government's support system, such as the 1st and 2nd financial support program for small businesses and the special guarantee for small and medium-sized businesses affected by Corona 19, are actually just a trick to steal money.

For example, phrases like this are likely fraudulent.

"Thank you for always using KB. Customers can apply for a special guarantee loan product that the Korea Credit Guarantee Foundation supports for ordinary people and small business owners, so please check it."

These texts are fraudulent because financial institutions do not text or call an unspecified number of people to encourage them to obtain government-backed loans.

There was even a fraudulent technique that said he was a commercial bank loan consultant and sent a picture of a business card.

Voice phishing techniques are diversifying, such as'refunding part of the comprehensive income tax in terms of disaster subsidies' and '10 million won over a year if one employee subscribes to the 4 insurances' in addition to bank impersonation loans.

An official from the Financial Supervisory Service said, "If a financial company makes a random phone call to solicit a government-supported loan or install an app from an unknown source, you must reject it.

In particular, he said, "If you click on the Internet address sent by the other party, personal information may be leaked, so do not press it."
