Xinhua News Agency, Chongqing, December 10 (Reporter Wu Yanxia) Recently, a batch of plastic bags departed from Vietnam arrived at Chongqing Tuanjiecun Central Station on the new western land-sea channel rail-sea intermodal train. Different from the past, only 9 was filled in. This batch of goods has completed the process from enterprise declaration to inspection and release, and directly transfers to the China-Europe train (Yuxinou) in the central station and sends it to Germany.

It is understood that Chongqing Customs has recently applied the "two-step declaration" mode for the first time in the transportation of goods in the new western land-sea corridor, and the efficiency of customs clearance has been significantly improved.

According to reports, the "two-step declaration" model means that the customs clearance process of imported goods is divided into two steps: summary declaration and complete declaration. Under the premise that the goods are not involved in inspection, tax, and certification, only 9 items need to be declared. , The customs clearance can be completed, the goods can be transshipped immediately, and the complete declaration procedures for the remaining items can be completed within 14 days after the goods enter the country.

According to Tang Wenbo, deputy chief of the Yuzhou Customs Integrated Business Section under Chongqing Customs, the number of items has been changed from 105 to 9, which has greatly reduced the preparation of documents and the time for customs clearance from the original 3 days to half a day.

The significant increase in the efficiency of customs clearance at ports has also made the competitiveness of the new western land-sea channel increasingly apparent.

According to statistics, from January to November this year, 1017 rail-sea intermodal trains were launched on the new western land-sea channel, a year-on-year increase of 25%, which has exceeded the number of trains in the whole year of last year.

Zhao Ye, deputy director of the Chongqing Customs Regulations and Comprehensive Business Department, said that in the next step, Chongqing Customs will continue to deepen business reform and innovation, optimize the multimodal customs supervision model, further improve the efficiency of customs clearance, and make every effort to promote the construction of the new western land-sea channel to achieve new results.
