The aim is to support consumption as the holidays approach and to fight against tax fraud.

As the Christmas holidays approach, the Italian government is supporting consumption.

As of December 1, consumers will receive 10% of the amount they have spent in the form of a refund, in return for purchases made by cards in stores, reports France Inter.

However, certain conditions must be met to benefit from it.

These purchases, which must number ten in a month, cannot be made online but only in shops.

Restaurant bills like the bills of artisans are also concerned, specifies BFMTV.

In addition, the maximum reimbursement is set at 150 euros, i.e. a reimbursement for 1,500 euros of purchases.

Beyond that, we should no longer hope for anything.

Another advantage: this cashback is set up for anyone over 18 and resident in Italy.

Which means that for a couple, the amount donated can be 300 euros.

Fight against tax fraud

The government's initiative does not only aim to boost consumption in this period of health crisis.

This incentive to pay by credit card rather than cash should help fight tax fraud, which is very common in Italy.

The system will be extended from 2021. Until June 2022, Italians will be able to receive up to 150 euros every semester.

This will require 50 payments with your card.

But that's not all, there will also be a great bonus: 1,500 euros will be distributed every semester to the 100,000 people who have carried out the greatest number of transactions.

To participate in the operation, all you have to do is register on the application of the Italian public administration and indicate your bank card number, then transmit your IBAN.
