In October, the production of raw coal in industries above designated size turned from decline to increase, natural gas production accelerated, and crude oil and electricity production slowed slightly.

Raw coal, crude oil and natural gas production and related conditions

  The production of raw coal turned from decline to increase.

In October, 340 million tons of raw coal were produced, a year-on-year increase of 1.4% and a decrease of 0.9% last month; the average daily output was 10.86 million tons, a decrease of 180,000 tons from the previous month.

From January to October, 3.13 billion tons of raw coal were produced, a year-on-year increase of 0.1%.

  The decline in coal imports continued to expand.

In October, imported coal was 13.73 million tons, a month-on-month decrease of 4.95 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 46.6%, an increase of 8.3 percentage points from the previous month; from January to October, imported coal was 250 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.3%.

  The comprehensive transaction price of port coal rose first and then fell.

On October 30, the comprehensive transaction prices of 5,500, 5,000, and 4500 kcal thermal coal at Qinhuangdao Port were 575 yuan, 523 yuan, and 464 yuan per ton, respectively, up 12 yuan, 14 yuan and 11 yuan from September 25. Yuan, compared with the highest price of the year on October 16, fell 5 yuan, 3 yuan and 4 yuan.

  The growth rate of crude oil production has slowed slightly, and processing has accelerated.

In October, 16.41 million tons of crude oil was produced, an increase of 1.4% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 1.0 percentage point lower than the previous month; 59.82 million tons of crude oil was processed, an increase of 2.6%, 1.3 percentage points higher than the previous month.

From January to October, 160 million tons of crude oil was produced, an increase of 1.7% year-on-year; 560 million tons of crude oil was processed, an increase of 2.9%.

  The growth rate of crude oil imports turned from positive to negative, and international crude oil prices fluctuated and fell.

In October, imported crude oil was 42.56 million tons, a month-on-month decrease of 5.92 million tons, down 6.5% year-on-year, and an increase of 17.6% last month; from January to October, imported crude oil was 460 million tons, an increase of 10.6% year-on-year.

On October 30, the spot FOB price of Brent crude oil was US$36.33/barrel, down 9.9% from the US$40.30/barrel on September 30.

  Natural gas production has accelerated.

In October, the production of natural gas was 16.3 billion cubic meters, an increase of 11.9% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 4.3 percentage points faster than the previous month; the daily output was 530 million cubic meters, an increase of 40 million cubic meters from the previous month.

From January to October, 153.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas was produced, a year-on-year increase of 9.0%.

  The growth rate of natural gas imports has accelerated significantly.

In October, 7.53 million tons of natural gas were imported, a year-on-year increase of 15.5%, and the growth rate was 9.5% higher than the previous month.

From January to October, 81.26 million tons of natural gas were imported, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%.

Electricity production

  The growth rate of power production slowed slightly.

In October, power generation was 609.4 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%, and the growth rate was 0.7 percentage points lower than the previous month; the average daily power generation was 19.66 billion kWh, a decrease of 1.39 billion kWh from the previous month.

From January to October, the power output was 6,028.8 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 1.4%.

  In terms of varieties, the growth rate of hydropower, wind power, and solar power accelerated in October, while the growth rate of thermal power and nuclear power turned from positive to negative.

Among them, hydropower increased by 25.4% year-on-year, an increase of 2.6 percentage points from the previous month; wind power increased by 14.7%, an increase of 3.4 percentage points; solar power increased by 8.1%, an increase of 4.1 percentage points; thermal power decreased by 1.5%, and was an increase of 0.2% last month; nuclear power A decrease of 0.3% and an increase of 7.4% last month.
