V. Point / 20 Minutes

  • From November 16 to 22 is held the European week for the employment of people with disabilities (SEEPH)

  • 20 Minutes is publishing this Monday, November 16 a special Inclusion file devoted to the integration of people with disabilities in business, of which here is an article

  • This report was produced during the month of October 2020, before the reconfinement

Who would have thought that the fight against Covid would be played out in a building in the industrial zone of Villiers-le-Bel (Val-d'Oise)?

We are at Tech'air, an establishment and work assistance service (Esat), which produces medical devices.

Everything changed here in March when the order book exploded.

"We produce a plastic part, which is essential for Air Liquide brand artificial respirators," explains Henri-Aurélien Chopinaud, director.

One per patient is required and we deliver worldwide.

From 400 weekly copies, the business has grown to 20,000.

A great mobilization during the first confinement

“We employ 130 disabled workers who all have reason to stay at home, except that on March 17, the day of confinement, 40 volunteered to work.

"If the pace has slowed this summer and all employees have returned to the premises, the fight is not over.

"In June, we had to condition a million rapid serological tests," specifies Henri-Aurélien Chopinaud.

There, it is the same for antigenic tests.

"A difficult pace for the organizations:" They were resilient and, for two months, we held on thanks to the excitement and congratulatory emails ... A journalist from

Le Figaro

wrote: "These disabled workers, new heroes in the world. 'shadow of caregivers'.

But what pride!

They who are still stigmatized, can you imagine?

"

Feedback on the “release” of the first 15,000 #serological tests # COVID19 produced by Esat Tech'Air, located in Villiers-le-Bel.

A self-sacrifice recognized up to the top of the State, since Aurélien Chopinaud, the director, and Anne, an employee of the company for twenty-eight years, were invited to represent Tech'air at the July 14 parade.

Anne, a little further on, welds a thread.

"I was tired, we worked a lot, but I think we saved lives," she slips.

Beside, Christelle burns the harmful particles that could be on this wire.

"For once, we are not put aside," she rejoices.

If it can show people that we can work and that it is not because we are in a suitable company that we are unable to do things… ”On the contrary.
