Only an indication that a problem occurred, but the video service was completely stopped.

From around 9 a.m. our time today, for about an hour and 40 minutes, it was jammed all over the world at the same time.

As inquiries and protests from users around the world followed, YouTube announced the suspension of the service through its official Twitter, and said it was only solving the problem.

After the service was normalized, we apologized, but did not explain the cause at all.

Various services such as online events and news such as'Techtonic 2020', a developer event scheduled to be broadcast live on YouTube, have also been discontinued.

Particularly, paid subscribers who pay 1450 won a month suffered substantial damage from being unable to watch the video.

Regarding the cause of the accident and compensation for damage, Google Korea said that there was nothing to confirm except the apology that the head office announced through Twitter.

The Korea Communications Commission said that telecommunications business operators are obligated to notify users when service is interrupted, but value-added communication service providers such as YouTube are not obligated to notify them only when the service is suspended for more than four hours.

However, YouTube has no terms and conditions that stipulate damage compensation for paid subscribers, so it is a position to look at YouTube's response in the future.
