The UAE is first in the Arab world on the Global Talent Report 2020

The UAE advanced 6 positions in the seventh edition of the Global Talent Report issued by the Global Competitiveness Center of the International Institute for Administrative Development (IMD). Last year, it was ranked 24th in the world in the 2020 edition of the report, ahead of countries such as France, Japan, China, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Malaysia.

The UAE is considered one of the global countries most prepared to meet the needs of the labor market that requires high skills and expertise, through an environment conducive to business in the country and capable of attracting and retaining expertise and skilled workforce, which is considered one of the most attractive to expertise and skills around the world.

Al Falasi added: “In addition to the general improvement in the UAE’s performance in the Global Talent Report 2020, which is represented by six ranks progressing in the overall order, the main readiness axis, and many of the sub-indicators that fall into this report, have witnessed remarkable improvement and distinguished performance at the global level. The UAE secured itself a place in the ranking of the top ten countries in the world in 13 indicators in which it achieved distinguished performance, which contributed to making the country one of the countries most prepared to meet the requirements of the labor market, as the report indicated that the UAE ranked third in the world in the main axis. Readiness », and it has also achieved remarkable progress in many of the report’s sub-indicators, as the UAE ranked first in the world in the specialist senior managers’ index, and second globally in both the “availability of skilled labor” index and the “availability of global expertise” index. The country also ranked In the third place globally in the indicators of “lack of brain drain” and the index of “highly skilled foreigners”. The country also achieved sixth place in the indicators of “apprenticeship”, the index of “basic and secondary education” and the “transfer of higher education students into the country” in addition to the index “The effectiveness of the personal income tax rate” and ranked eighth in the world in two indicators, namely “language skills” and the “labor force growth” index, in which the country made the largest leap in the form of rising 50 places at once, and it came in the center.

The UAE ranked first in the Arab world, and second in the region after Israel (22nd globally). At the global level, Switzerland ranked first for the sixth year in a row, followed by Denmark and Luxembourg, while the fourth place went to Austria, and the fifth Sweden's share.


It is worth noting that the Global Talent Report is issued annually by the International Institute for Administrative Development (IMD) and aims to measure the extent of countries' ability to develop, attract and retain talent based on 31 indicators, including 17 indicators from opinion polls and 14 statistical indicators.
