High-tech equipment helps double 11 express "run"

On the day of Double 11, the freight volume of express delivery companies increased significantly compared with normal days; the new intelligent equipment made all aspects of receiving scanning, sorting and packaging easier and environmentally friendly

On Double 11, the express parcel was already on the way.

In order to ensure smoother logistics, express companies have launched a variety of high-tech equipment: the single-line automatic sorting equipment in Asia, the largest inbound cargo volume can reach 5 million pieces a day, and the hand-held terminal that the courier can wear on the body, It can almost achieve "second" scanning, and does not use tapes and fillers to meet the "reduction" of express delivery.

Yesterday, the reporter learned from a number of express companies that the volume of freight on Double 11 increased significantly compared with normal days.

In order to allow consumers to receive online purchases as soon as possible, a variety of high-tech equipment has been launched: scanning terminals that can be worn on the body, large-scale automatic sorting equipment, automatic packaging machines... let the express "run".

Asia's largest single-line sorting equipment has 696 grids

This year is the second Double 11 that Ji Wentao, an express truck unloader, has experienced.

At about 11 o'clock yesterday, Ji Wentao and three colleagues stood on both sides of the unloading platform. Although they are unloaders, their main task is to check whether the receipt on the express parcel is clear and recognizable to ensure that the automatic scanning equipment can quickly and accurately Scan the face sheet.

Ji Wentao said: "This is the sixth truck I unloaded today, and the workload has increased a lot compared to yesterday."

The express delivery center where Ji Wentao works was completed in 2019.

According to Wang Zhaofu, the manager of the center, the center's automatic sorting equipment is divided into upper and lower layers, and the single-line body scale of the automatic sorting equipment is the largest in Asia.

The first floor is mainly used for the loading and unloading of inbound vehicles and the automatic sorting and loading of large-size express sorting lines and express parcels after package construction. The second floor is all fully automated sorting equipment.

There are a total of 696 grids on the first and second floors, and the maximum incoming cargo volume can reach 5 million pieces a day.

With the advent of Double 11, the center has opened all 4 sets of automated sorting lines. The sorting efficiency of each sorting line can reach 70,000 votes/hour, and only 150 people are required to complete it.

In the past, traditional sorting equipment required three times the number of people to achieve such sorting efficiency.

In addition, the center is also equipped with 40 automatic balance wheel sorting lines dedicated to large-size express delivery. In the past, large-size express delivery had to rely on a lot of manpower to complete the sorting under high-intensity work.

In order to improve the efficiency of unloading long-distance vehicles and reduce the intensity of manual unloading, dozens of 17-meter-long loading and unloading auxiliary telescopic machines are installed at the entrance of the sorting line.

In addition, the center is also equipped with a 21-meter loading and unloading auxiliary telescopic machine, which can easily load and unload a 24-meter "Big Mac" truck.

New scanning equipment realizes "second" scanning

On the eve of Double 11 this year, the courier brother Li Guangyue added a new device on his wrist. It looks similar to a phone watch, but has functions that combine traditional handheld terminal functions, such as collection, collection reminder, cost details, collection address, etc. .

In addition, there was a card-sized scanner hung on Li Guangyue's clothes. He pressed both sides of the scanner with his hand, and a bright light appeared. Then, he aimed at the product to complete the scan.

"Watch" + "card" replaces the handheld terminal equipment commonly used by the couriers before, and is called the handheld terminal that can be worn on the body by the couriers.

Li Guangyue is responsible for the collection and collection of packages in the Zhongguancun area. This new set of equipment makes him very proud. He said: "This set of equipment is very cool. Customers who are familiar with me when they see me use this, they all say, "Xiao Li, how are you? Become handsome'. And many of them are in the IT industry, and they are particularly interested in my set of equipment, and they ask this and that."

For the courier brother, the love for the new device is not only because of its high appearance, but also because it is more convenient to use.

Li Guangyue introduced while showing that if a traditional handheld terminal device is used to scan products, the device needs to have a response time, but if a new device is used, the scan can be completed when the light is on, which can almost achieve "second" scanning.

Automatic packing machine 300 pieces per hour

Receiving, packing, and veneer sheets are important aspects of commodity delivery.

On Double 11 this year, logistics companies used automatic packaging equipment to make cumbersome packaging easier and faster.

Ding Ding is a logistics staff member of a famous supermarket, and his job is an automatic baler in the 3C department.

In the past few days, there are many consumers who buy electronic products such as mobile phones online, and the automatic packaging machine that Tintin is responsible for serves these mobile phones.

Ding Ding’s work does not seem complicated. First scan the product information code with a handheld device, trigger the computer to automatically print the paper face sheet, then he puts the phone into the automatic packing machine to complete the packaging, and automatically pastes the sheet and packs it. The mobile express is sent to the commodity box to wait for the next sorting.

Ding Ding said that the work efficiency of the automatic baler is very high. It can pack 300 items in one hour, while the manual can pack up to 100 items in one hour.

During Double 11, Ding Ding's work pressure was not small. In only 3 hours yesterday morning, he had completed the packaging task of more than 1,000 mobile phones, and the subsequent packaging tasks continued to be transferred.

Fufu Bo, director of the General Logistics Office, told reporters that there is another advantage of using automatic balers, which is that it does not use tapes and fillers to meet the "reduce" requirements of green express delivery.

The reporter noticed that the equipment is sealed by thermoplastic and does not use tape.

Although the packaging looks simple, its "compression resistance" ability is outstanding. Fubo said: "If the item accidentally falls from a height of nearly 2 meters, this packaging method can also ensure that the product is intact."

"Wild sweeper" scans four to five thousand pieces per hour

Every year on Double 11, consumers are most looking forward to getting products as soon as possible, so the speed of product shipments is especially important.

Beijing Post Information Technology Bureau launched a brand-new visual scanning device on Double 11 this year, also known as the "crazy scanner".

The main function of this set of equipment is to collect bar code information, which is used to deliver, receive and send mail when e-commerce is out of the warehouse.

As the name suggests, the "Frenzy Scanner" scans faster than conventional handheld devices.

Niu Juncheng, an engineer of the Information Technology Department of the bureau, told reporters that the use of the "crazy sweeper" can achieve a receiving and sending efficiency of 4000-5000 pieces per hour, which is far higher than the efficiency of traditional handheld devices.

Taking an e-commerce company’s daily shipment of 300,000 pieces as an example, 10 sets of "crazy sweeping machines" can be shipped out in about 6-7 hours.

However, if you follow the traditional method in the past, you need more employees to complete the shipment of 300,000 pieces in the same time.

The efficiency of the "crazy sweeper" is due to the "eyes" above the conveyor belt-the camera.

From the appearance point of view, the "crazy sweeper" is a combination of conveyor belt and camera. Mail passes through the conveyor belt and the camera captures and scans to complete the delivery.

Niu Juncheng said that before the equipment was officially launched, engineers conducted detailed tests on it to ensure that the missed detection rate was controlled within five ten thousandths.
