The practical exam for the National Doctors Examination, which 86% of all eligible medical students did not take, ends today (10th).
The national practical exam has been distributed for about two months since September 8th, and only 446 of the 3,172 candidates accepted the exam.
According to the medical community today, the majority of medical students will not be able to take the national practical test within this year.
As it was, they took the practical test and obtained a doctor's license by taking the written test on January 7-8 next year, but as they refused the practical test, more than 2,700 new doctors will not appear next year.
Training hospitals may not be able to recruit intern doctors, resulting in a shortage of manpower, and a shortage of public health doctors and military doctors.
The medical community has insisted that the government should open a way to retake state time in order to prevent such a medical upheaval.
The Korean Medical Association (Medical Association) called for the government's'prospective attitude', saying, "Solving the national practical test problem is the basic premise of the agreement reached on September 4th."
The hospital community, including the heads of major university hospitals, said that if most of the doctors are not produced in the Corona 19 situation, they are seriously concerned about the deterioration of the quality of medical care.
Medical students said in September that they "express their intention to take the national exam," and in October, 3,196 students, more than those who can take the practical exam, received applications for the written exam scheduled for January next year.
The medical community actually interpreted this as an expression of their individual will to take the doctor's office.
However, medical students expressed their position that "I do not want the issue of the national government to be a factor in the formation of the legislative council or to be a factor in the negotiations."
Regarding this, the government recently opened up a room for "medical supply, emergency room, and essential medical problems."
However, there seems to be no way for them to take the national practical exam within this year.
An official of the National Examination Institute for Health and Medicine of Korea (Kuksiwon) said, "If I want to finish this year, it is tight," he said. .
