The company's early actions helped limit losses

"Air Arabia" records a net loss of 44 million dirhams in the third quarter

Air Arabia, the first and largest low-cost carrier in the Middle East and North Africa region, today announced its financial and operating results for the third quarter of this year ending on September 30, 2020, coinciding with the ongoing efforts made by the global aviation sector to address the repercussions of the "Covid-19" epidemic.

Air Arabia recorded a net loss of 44 million dirhams during the third quarter ending on September 30, 2020, which came as a direct result of the continuing impact of the "Covid-19" epidemic on the operations of airlines.

The company’s revenues amounted to 294 million dirhams during the third quarter of 2020, and “Air Arabia” provided services to 665,456 passengers from its five operations centers during the same period.

The third quarter of 2020 witnessed a gradual return of regular flights to specific destinations within the airline's network.

This, in addition to the strict measures to control the total costs that Air Arabia has taken since the start of the Corona pandemic, contributed to reducing net losses during the third quarter.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Air Arabia", said: "Air Arabia was able to reduce the losses of the third quarter and record satisfactory financial results during this period despite the unprecedented repercussions caused by the 'Covid-19' epidemic that set the aviation sector. The global economy is under unprecedented pressure in its history, and the early measures taken by the management team to enhance liquidity and reduce costs, in addition to seizing available commercial opportunities during this period, contributed to reducing the net losses for the third quarter.
